Chelsea-Linked Havertz Hailed As Bayer Leverkusen’s Best Ever Player

German wonderkid Kai Havertz has been hailed as Bayer Leverkusen’s best ever player by the club’s sporting director Rudi Voller amid interest from Premier League outfit Chelsea.

Havertz has established himself as one of the best players in Bundesliga since making his bow in October 2016.

The Germany international has been tipped to move away from BayArena this summer, with teams likes Chelsea and Real Madrid hoping to secure his services.

The BayArena has been graced by some of the best talents in Europe like Michael Ballack, Toni Kroos and Bernd Schuster, but Voller believes Havertz is the best player to ever play for Die Werkself.

“We’ve had many good players through the history of the club at Bayer Leverkusen, but Kai Havertz is the best of them all,” the German said via the Bundesliga website ahead of Bayer Leverkusen’s DFB Pokal final against rivals Bayern Munich.

Havertz had a good 2019/2020 season where he scored 16 goals and provided nine assists in 42 appearances for Leverkusen.

He also made history in May by becoming the first Bundesliga player to reach 35 goals before the age of 21.
